Most Holy Father,
The team has returned from the Pacific coast with a 5-2 record after going 2-1 against division foe Cabo San Lucas. The first game of the series was a tough loss, made even more so by the injury to hot hitting outfielder Alex Austin. In the final two games, the offense explained to Cabo management why they should have pulled their starters after six innings. The two seventh innings saw the Cardinals score 9 runs off five home runs including a grand slam by 3B Miguel Ramos.
We were welcomed home by enthusiastic crowds who enjoyed a three game sweep of the Jersey Jesters. The series earned Javier Solis his 8th and 9th saves of the season, likely putting an end to the question of whether he or Brock Maddox would be the Cardinal closer.
Holy Father, please pray that the team remains strong in the coming week. Coming to St Sebastian's Cathedral are the San Francisco Eathquakes for a series that could either confirm the preseason predictions of Boston as the favorite or hand the division lead to Cabo San Lucas or Los Angeles.

Most Holy Father,
I must begin this letter with a request for forgiveness. I confess myself unprepared for the flurry of activity that the first month of a baseball season would entail. The weekly reports that I had promised have not yet materialized, though with your blessing I will strive to meet those expectations going forward.
While tardy, this letter brings with it great news about the progress of our experiment in the realm of sports as a medium to share our message. We are averaging nearly 50,000 attendees for each game at St Sebastian's Cathedral and attendance at mass in the Boston area has had a noticeable increase since the first of April.
The team itself is performing admirably. The first player selected to be a part of our organization has lived up to his expectations. Norm Jackson has started the season undefeated in seven outings and is counted amongst the league leaders in a number of statistical categories. He is even endearing himself to the fans and has recently been given the nickname "Cheers", an obvious reference to another Boston landmark. We are looking forward to giving Mr. Jackson and his teammates additional support once the offense begins hitting as expected.
The team will conclude its west coast trip in Mexico, and will finish the upcoming week in Boston. I will write again once we have returned home.
